I have been in creative pursuit all my life. My professional journey began while attending Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts. After graduating with a B.F.A, I pursued my career in the fashion industry as a handbag, shoe and accessories designer for over a decade in New York City. I have since left the corporate fashion world to pursue the artist’s way.
Through surreal and nostalgic imagery in analog collage, I aim to explore subconscious material and popular culture. The work emerges from spiritual inquiry and resistance to mind control with a focus on transformation, destruction and rebirth. I am drawn to images with conflicting relationships, playful and absurd combinations. The tension between the natural, unseen, and material illusions are transmitted through repurposed and recontextualized materials. The pursuit of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual integration is documented in the work. Each piece is an invitation to pause and consider what lies beneath the shallow surface of everyday life. A reconfiguration of matter and meaning through healing serves as a baseline for the creative process. I hope to guide the viewer to introspection of their own layers of psyche and relationship with the temporal vs spiritual, as well as their own potential for internal revolution.
